As reported on Huffington Post – the even that sculpted what has happened the last four years and it has less do to do with Obama and more to do with the Republican House and Senate.

WASHINGTON -- As President Barack Obama was celebrating his inauguration at various balls, top Republican lawmakers and strategists were conjuring up ways to submarine his presidency at a private dinner in Washington.

According to Draper, the guest list that night (which was just over 15 people in total) included Republican Reps. Eric Cantor (Va.), Kevin McCarthy (Calif.), Paul Ryan (Wis.), Pete Sessions (Texas), Jeb Hensarling (Texas), Pete Hoekstra (Mich.) and Dan Lungren (Calif.), along with Republican Sens. Jim DeMint (S.C.), Jon Kyl (Ariz.), Tom Coburn (Okla.), John Ensign (Nev.) and Bob Corker (Tenn.).

And what are they reported as talking about??? (my emphasis)

    Show united and unyielding opposition to the president’s economic policies. (Eight days later, Minority Whip Cantor would hold the House Republicans to a unanimous No against Obama’s economic stimulus plan.)

    Begin attacking vulnerable Democrats on the airwaves. (The first National Republican Congressional Committee attack ads would run in less than two months.)

    Win the spear point of the House in 2010. Jab Obama relentlessly in 2011. Win the White House and the Senate in 2012.

And how did the meeting end???

"You will remember this day," Draper reports Newt Gingrich as saying on the way out. "You’ll remember this as the day the seeds of 2012 were sown."

And even though McConnell was not at the meeting
he very clearly stated what they intended on doing when he announced:

Instead of being politicians working for the good of this country – the GOP in the House and Senate have done nothing to help this country.  The only focus of  GOP over the last four years was obstruction and destruction of the democratic process.

So you’re gonna vote green or independent – really?????

If you want to vote green or independent at the local / state level – go for it – wreck your state if you want to – but then, maybe there is a good independent or green party candidate that has progressive stances that needs a start - but make them prove it at the local/state level FIRST!

Think  twice before you vote independent or green for national offices.

We need a House and Senate that will support progressive ideas
AND help Obama get more done!!!!

Before you turn over the White House to Romney Ryan by voting for an Independent or Green Party Candidate
– just take a moment of your – oh so precious time –
and take a look at a list of things that Obama has accomplished.

Giving more tax breaks to the wealthy

Destroying women’s GOPs in this country

Passing policies to turn the elderly into paupers on the side of the road

Passing policies that let children starve in their homes

Passing policies that take solid public education away from our children

Passing policies that destroy our environment

Passing policies that will leave us with unsafe pharmaceuticals and food supply

America, we have come so far. We have seen so much. But there is so much more to do. So tonight, let us ask ourselves -- if our children should live to see the next century; if my daughters should be so lucky to live as long as Ann Nixon Cooper, what change will they see? What progress will we have made?

This is our chance to answer that call. This is our moment.

This is our time, to put our people back to work and open doors of opportunity for our kids; to restore prosperity and promote the cause of peace; to reclaim the American dream and reaffirm that fundamental truth, that, out of many, we are one; that while we breathe, we hope. And where we are met with cynicism and doubts and those who tell us that we can't, we will respond with that timeless creed that sums up the spirit of a people: Yes, we can.
